About Wild Picha
When we were students we traveled around the world and took snapshots to tell friends and family back home about the places we had visited. Since then we have met great photographers and guides on our travels, who inspired us and taught us a lot about wildlife photography. Nowadays our pictures show our adventurous travels and tell the stories of endless landscapes, animals in their environment, magic light and surprising details of nature. As an illustrator Tanja used our pictures for her twikga children’s books and took the story telling one step further.
In the section below you will find some of our pictures. Have a look in the Gallery for more. Under Stories you will find more about our travels and the making of our pictures. More about Tanja’s illustrations and publishings on the twikga site.

Wild Picha Stories
We like to take pictures that tell a story, to trigger the imagination of our audience, to make your mind wander. What happened in that scene, what might happen next? Most of our pictures were taken in far away places, in Africa, South America and in the Arctic. But since our return to The Netherlands we started to photograph wildlife and landscapes in our region, including the famous tulips and windmills. We are lucky to live on the edge of a forest, so rain or shine, the scenery is often breathtaking. Even our garden is a busy place full of birds and small mammals. Framing a scene with a camera plays a central part in our lives, at home and on our travels. Our photographs have been awarded and featured in books. Below three of our latest stories, for more have a look in our Stories section.
