Creativity is an ongoing process. There is always new work in progress, be it a painting, a christmas card or an illustration, our websites or a book project. Here you will also find the nostalgic stories about the making of the twikga books. Some of them go back more than 15 years. I considered taking them down, but they are part of the twikga story afer all. 

Life, travels and other passions

What you love is what you cherish. We believe that opening your hart to the small wonders of life will make you appreciate what you have and passionate about preserving the world around you. Sadly, in times of climate change the urgency of wildlife conservation is brought right to our doorsteps. We realize how privileged we are to travel the world and hope that by sharing our pictures with a broader audience, through our websites, exhibitions, books and social media, that we may contribute to the protection of the places we were fortunate enough to visit over the years…

twikga publishing stories

twikga Verlag was a small, independent publishing company, which was based in Hamburg. The company seized to exist when we decided to move back to Holland. But while it lasted we worked hard and did amazing things with a small team of great women! The twikga books aimed to open the hearts of its readers for the wilderness, with its diversity of animals, plants and landscapes. We published books for the child in us. Wilderness, discovering things and imagination were important elements. The books were/are educational as they combine fact and fiction. We published four books in three languages, went to the Children’s Book Fair in Bologna, organized events and sponsoring and made a lot of children happy…
